Wing Chun Kung Fu is a Southern Style martial art that has been developed by Shaolin Monks centuries ago, making it a significant part of the martial arts community. This style features a short-range fighting system that employs linear punches along with hand trapping techniques. In martial arts training, the combination of proper footwork, structure, and good positioning are key focuses of the external practice of this system. Additionally, staying relaxed and calm, along with the ability to yield, are important internal aspects that stem from the practice of ‘Chi’ or Energy. The three empty hand forms - Sil Lim Tao (little idea form), Chum Kiu (seeking the bridge form), and Biu Jee (thrusting fingers form) - along with the Mook Yan Jong (wooden dummy form) have been passed down from teacher to student for 300 years, providing valuable self-defense techniques.

I started Wing Chun classes over a year ago, fulfilling my long-held dream of learning eastern martial arts. Beginning from scratch without any prior experience, this journey has deepened my understanding of biomechanics and the science behind every move in kung fu. It’s more than just exercise or a discipline; it’s an integrated movement of relaxation, strength, and flexibility. I am grateful to Brian, our Sifu, for his patience and passion for this art, and for sharing his extensive knowledge with the martial arts community.
Sifu Brian has an incredible ability to adapt his teaching to each student’s unique learning style. Whether you’re a visual learner, hands-on, or need things broken down step-by-step, he meets you where you are in your kung fu journey. His patience, insight, and personalized approach to martial arts training make every class feel like it was designed just for you, enhancing skills. I’ve grown so much in my wing chun practice thanks to his guidance.
Before attending here, I had never taken a martial arts training class. Brian has created a welcoming environment within the martial arts community. He’s a very respectful and patient teacher who made me feel comfortable despite my lack of experience. He breaks down the movements with patience and does an excellent job of relating the techniques to each individual person. If you are looking to start practicing Wing Chun in the South Florida area, this is a phenomenal choice.
With decades of training across different styles, I can confidently say that Authentic Wing Chun Kung Fu is one of the BEST schools for both martial arts training and learning. Balancing a diverse group of students with varying experience is a skill that Sifu Brian handles with effortless grace.
Through plenty of practice, analogy, and experience, this kung fu school supports everyone, no matter where they are in their training journeys. I've witnessed individuals with zero experience, as well as those with extensive backgrounds in various martial arts, step in and begin learning Wing Chun quickly.
One area where many Wing Chun schools fall short is in stress testing. This school excels by applying Wing Chun as a form of self-defense. It also respects each student's level, ensuring they grow at the proper pace without pushing them into situations they can't handle. It's truly masterful.
Additionally, the direct lineage of Wing Chun is impressive, along with the decades this school has been part of the martial arts community.
If you're looking to improve your health—mentally, emotionally, and physically—learn a new art, train in self-defense, or find a fantastic group of people you look forward to seeing at training, you should consider coming here.
The kung fu training atmosphere here is excellent. It's an awesome group of students. Sifu Brian is an exceptional teacher who really enhances our martial arts training. I love the positive vibes here and wing chun techniques.
Authentic Wing Chun Kung Fu Academy has been life-changing for Eva and me. We've been training there for about three and a half years, and Wing Chun has evolved; it has become our way of life.
From day one, we noticed significant improvements in our structure, posture, and the core tenets of this martial arts training. This has translated into better alignment both in class and in our everyday life.
The classes feel more like a martial arts community than a typical school. We're surrounded by like-minded students, all engaged in practical drills ranging from sticky-hands and sensitivity training to reaction-timing and powerful chain strikes, which sharpen our reflexes and build functional strength.
Most importantly, it's the atmosphere that keeps us coming back. There’s a sense of camaraderie, mutual support, and shared growth. Authentic Wing Chun isn't just a fighting class; it's a community that uplifts and inspires.
Eva and I are committed to making Wing Chun an integral part of our lives for the long haul. We’ll continue practicing its principles, structure, mindfulness, balance, and efficiency every single day because it’s not just training... it’s who we are.
Feel free to stop by and check us out! You can even participate in our classes on your first visit. We offer martial arts training sessions on Wednesdays from 7:45pm-9:45pm and Sundays from 10:30am-12:30pm, focusing on techniques like wing chun.
